The Lithuania Agency for Education and Training (LAEAT) was founded in 2011 to promote Lithuania education around the world.
As a completely independent and free of charge service, we ensure that students enroll in educational institutions in cities that they would like to live in and with courses that will help them achieve their lifelong goals.

    Note: Your application will require supporting documentation.
    LAEAT staff will contact you to explain exactly what is required but it will include NOTARIZED or LEGALIZED copies of your academic transcripts and passport. You must ensure that all supporting documentation is provided when you apply.
    Some universities will also require a processing fee before they assess your application. You have two options for making these payments:
    Pay by credit card directly to the university
    Pay by electronic transfer to LAEAT. We will make payment to the university on your behalf and provide you with the university’s receipt of payment.

    Step 3: Acknowledgement and assessment of application
    LAEAT will acknowledge your application and provide a reference number so you can track your application online.

    Step 4: Accept your offer
    In order to obtain your Confirmation of Enrollment you are required to:
    Pay the fees or submit required Financial Guarantee to accept your university course
    Send your completed signed Acceptance of Offer form
    Provide any outstanding certified documentation to meet the conditions of your offer

    How long will my application take?
    Processing times can vary depending on the program of study and university you want to apply for. Credit exemptions take additional time as universities need to assess applications on a case by case basis. You will be required to submit a course syllabus if you are requesting credit exemptions.
    You can speed the process up by ensuring all documentation has been provided. This includes supporting documentation. Lithuania Agency’s current approximate processing times for complete applications are as follows:
    English offers – 20 working days
    Diploma/Bachelor offers – 22 working days
    Masters offers (coursework- 4 weeks)
    PhD – 4 to 6 weeks

    What are the admission deadlines dates?


    Generally Lithuanian universities have two semesters. The first is from September to December and the second from February to May. This can vary somewhat between universities.


    Autumn semester:


    June 1st, Applicants from the countries, whose citizens are required visas to enter the Republic of Lithuania and with no Lithuanian Embassy in it.
    August 1st, Applicants from the countries, whose citizens are required visas to enter the Republic of Lithuania and with Lithuanian Embassy in it.
    August 15th, 2015  Applicants from the countries, whose citizens do not require visas to enter the Republic of Lithuania.


    Spring semester:


    October 1st, Applicants from the countries, whose citizens are required visas to enter the Republic of Lithuania and with no Lithuanian Embassy in it.
    December 1st, Applicants from the countries, whose citizens are required visas to enter the Republic of Lithuania and with Lithuanian Embassy in it.
    December 15th, Applicants from the countries, whose citizens do not require visas to enter the Republic of Lithuania.


    Which university will I study at?
    Lithuanian Agency works with universities and education institutions throughout Lithuania. Your university will depend on your choice of study program and eligibility. Lithuania Agency will help you choose the right institution for you.


    ENTRY REQUIREMENTS AND APPLICATION


    What entry requirements do I need to satisfy before I can study in Lithuania?
    These vary between study programs and levels. Lithuanian Agency will help you identify and satisfy the entry requirements of your chosen course. For each course you will need to meet a minimum English language requirement.


    Do international students from English-speaking countries need to provide proof of English language proficiency?
    Not all students must provide proof of English language proficiency. Lithuanian Agency can advise as to whether you are exempt from this requirement.


    How do I apply to study in Lithuania?

    What application closing dates do I need to be aware of?
    These will vary depending on your choice of university and study program. Lithuanian Agency will help you meet all application deadlines. You can apply to Lithuanian Agency any time of year.


    STUDENT VISA INFORMATION


    Do I need a student visa to study in Lithuania?
    Yes. Lithuanian Agency has been handling student visas for over 3 years. We can guide you through this process to ensure your documentation is complete and correct so your student visa is granted quickly.


    Do I have to complete my studies within a certain time frame?
    Yes. Your student visa specifies an expected duration in which you will study in Lithuania. You must complete your studies within this duration.


    Can I extend my student visa in Lithuania?
    Yes. You can apply to extend your student visa if you have not completed your studies within the expected duration.


    Can I change my program of study after I have arrived in Lithuania?
    Yes. You will need to get necessary permission from your university.

    How much does it cost to study in Australia?
    Lithuania offers very competitively priced study and living. Overall, we are consistently less expensive than the Germany and UK.


    Tuition fees will vary depending on the course and university at which you study and also your chosen lifestyle and activity expenses.


    Are student loans available to international students who study in Lithuania?
    No


    Are scholarships available to international students who study in Lithuania?
    Yes. Most scholarships however, are offered for Erasmus exchange study in partner universities in EU.


    Can international students work while completing their studies?
    Student visa holders are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week during their study in Lithuania.
